Electronic Spooning, Iris Print from scanner, 2004

For over 20 years I have been working in the non-profit community. Please click on consulting to learn more. In my consulting work, I employ a collaborative spirit with my clients- a “you look good, I look good” philosophy. I am often called when projects are in their start-up phase, or when a project is moving to another level; I work to move the idea to implementation. Currently, I am working with a painter, a municipality on a museum start-up project, and a service foundation in education.

Amy Hufnagel makes multimedia art about the things that confuse her. Such topics include telecommunications, technological reliance, illness, gender and the body, landscape degradation, history, and of course aesthetics. -Blair Academy Solo Show 2006. In my art making, I employ photography, painting, sewing, drawing, mono-print processes, and text to build visual sentences, verbal landscapes. My works use traditional black and white silver gelatin photographs, color film, and scanner images (using scanner as a large format camera). Hufnagel also employs mono-print heat relief processes that use photocopy technology, video/internet and found images, as well as experimental digital/inkjet printing. I like the multiple “languages/looks” of old and new image making techniques together. While divergent media is used in each piece, I am most focused on the questions/concepts like “what is disguised and what is revealed" in the organic/technological systems we find ourselves living in.
